Yesterday’s election results brought celebration
for many Americans, and yet, perhaps especially for many of us who are more spiritual than religious, the election may tempt us into frustration and despair, projecting a dismal future for both America and the world. My first sense of peace about the election came Tuesday night, before I knew the results, and after I meditated. What was happening as I watched the returns felt painfully insane to me, so I asked for higher guidance so that I would not be so judgmental about American voters. Automatically, what came to me is that they are hurting. A large proportion of the population in America has been hurting.
Underneath all anger lies fear and/or hurt (generally both). However, because we live in a culture with patriarchal values (which, of course, explains how we elected Donald Trump), people in our culture are taught as children to ignore their own feelings, never to express emotional vulnerability lest they be taken advantage of, and are left having to attack outwards because of their inner feeling of vulnerability.
That is exactly what Donald Trump does, and exactly what the American people have done: feel hurt/afraid/anxious/unheard/left out, then shut down their own feelings because they don’t dare feel vulnerable, and attacked outwards, often blaming someone else for the problems. This represents an incredible lack of wisdom, precisely because it neglects feminine values of emotional awareness, vulnerability in relationships in order to communicate honestly and effectively, and compassion for the feelings of others.
I feel peace now that I am aware that this vote was made out of deep pain, not just ignorance, lack of wisdom, and lack of sacred feminine awareness, acceptance, and values. I understand deep pain, and I can only care that it be healed.
But more than that, the lesson I read in A Course in Miracles this morning was perfect, because it reminded me that our answers and what we truly need do not come from this world, but from our inner connection with God. Lesson 200 of ACIM states: “There is no peace except the peace of God.”
Politics are not the answer for creating a world that knows the energy-consciousness of love, peace, compassion, kindness, equality, generosity, divinity-within-diversity, and so on. The reality is that we find these aspects within ourselves, as we find the Divine within. Politics can become a tool for manifesting these intentions in the world, but the inner work comes first. We must first find Christ/Buddha/Enlightenment within in order to manifest this beautiful consciousness of loving and compassionate non-attachment in the outer world.
Today, in response to America’s apparent lack of wisdom, I dedicate myself to seeking this inner peace and wisdom, and living from it, so that I can help embody the Presence of Divine Peace and Divine Wisdom in the world. Will you join me?
I also feel moved to create Wisdom Schools. We need to teach wisdom to children through meditation, mindfulness, feminine sacred values in balance with sacred masculine values, yoga, healthy psychology, healthy spirituality, and cooperative values. I am committed to promoting the Mastermind Stars program and/or to creating Wisdom Schools. Will you join me?
I cannot do this alone, so I invite your support and your involvement in creating Wisdom Schools across America, and around the world. Please let me know if you can or will help: firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you and Namaste!
Love and Light,
