Purity & The Essence of Form

Recently, The Ascended Masters have reminded me directly, but gently, of the need for purity on the path of Self-Realization.

Sometimes, I have thought of purity as being that which my father used to describe in me as “innocent naivete.”  In other words, most of my life, I have expected other people to tell the truth, to be trustworthy, and to act with kindness and compassion, because those are qualities that I believe are important for me to embody, and therefore, I just assume that others will value embodying them as well.  Obviously, after enough years have passed, I have become aware of the frequent lack of expression of virtue in human behavior.

Virtues are angelic.  When I learned to work with the Archangels of the Seven Rays after my Enlightenment Vision in 2010 (initiation), it was largely thanks to a chart that my Reiki teacher had sent me, which showed the virtues associated with each Archangel. Archangel Gabriel (or Gabrielle in his/her feminine form) is the Archangel of purity, and that virtue has always felt essential to me in so far as having the ability to work with archangels and to channel the Seven Rays to others for their healing.

Well, recently, I was reminded that Archangel Gabriel is the Archangel of purity, and hope, and that the Crystal-White Ray associated with him/her is the Ray of Ascension. In other words, in order to Ascend to higher realms, to higher levels of consciousness, and to Self-Realization, we need to be pure.

What does pure mean?  This morning, I asked that very question during my time of prayer and meditation, and the answer that I received was this:  purity is the sacrifice of form in order to achieve pure essence.

When I use the term ‘form,’ it refers to the material world and all of its associated ideas, desires, fantasies, and projected realities. the world of form is what embodies Spirit in an infinite variety of forms, yet the forms themselves are empty, just as Maya is merely an empty Illusion.  The world of form, or the material world, which is also called Maya, is temporary.  The essence expressed in each form, or Spirit, is eternal.

Essence is a word which refers to spiritual qualities, just like the virtues of honesty, integrity, purity, and compassion.  More than that, essence is the expression of Divine Self in the Being-ness of the Universe.  So, the essence of the Divine is in each one of us.  (The book of Genesis states that concept as: human beings are created in the image of God.)

Sacrificing form in order to attain essence means that we let go of human longings in order to achieve a higher purpose.  People do this frequently.  Expressing essence is expressing Godde.   The Divine qualities of self-giving, self-sacrifice, putting others first are in particular very pure.  What a joy it can be to express these qualities.

Today I had the joy of being prompted to ask a homeless man who was sitting out in the freezing cold where he usually sells his homeless newspaper what it would take for him to go home to get out of the cold.  (His name is Earl, and in previous conversations, I had found out that he was no longer homeless, but selling these papers is his source of income.)  Earl made it clear that he needed to earn some more money, maybe $10.  I said, “If I give you $10 will you go home?”  Earl replied, “Yes, I’ve been sitting outside here in the cold since 9 am.”  (It was about 5 pm at the time.)  I gave Earl $10 and said, “Go home.  God bless you.”

Why didn’t anyone else among the many people of Silver Spring, Maryland think to ask Earl what it would take to get to go home?  Was the $10 a sacrifice for me?  Of course it was.  My income has been very erratic, doing Reiki energy healing.  But what great joy it was to enable Earl to get out of the cold – that was priceless!  What great joy it was to experience the Divine Compassion expressing itself through me.  Not my compassion, not me being “me,” but Godde being who Godde is because I allowed Godde to act through  me.  Now, that IS a joy!

When we align ourselves with Divine Virtue and allow those virtues to express themselves through us, we are embodying the Divine.  How Pure would you like to be?  What forms are you willing to sacrifice (money, time, possessions, savings, status, safety, sexual satisfaction) in order to embody divine purity?  What virtues would you like to embody in the process (love, compassion, kindness, generosity, wisdom, patience, service)?

May you find the purity of Godde within you, so that you can ascend to higher states, and reach that final state of pure love, peace, and bliss called Self-Realization!

Love and Light,

About selfrealizationtherapy

I am a healer, life coach, author, and spiritual teacher. While I am ordained in the Christian tradition, I have also studied Eastern spiritual disciplines and practices, including Raja Yoga Meditation; Intuitive Coaching; Reiki; Falun Gong; and other forms of energy healing for both people and animals. I am available for distance healing and spiritual coaching via phone, Skype, WhatsApp, or Facetime; please email me at: carol.dodson.richardson@gmail.com to schedule a session. My goal is to assist you in connecting with your Higher Self to find fulfillment, peace, health, and happiness in life. I typically work with people for about six weeks, and then they either take classes with me and advance more, or simply go their happy way. While I cannot guarantee results, many clients find that in a few short weeks, more is accomplished than could be with years of traditional talk therapy. Born on the equator in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, I grew up moving back-and-forth between Africa and the United States my whole childhood and youth. We lived in three different countries in Africa, and three different states in the USA. I now live in Maryland, close to Washington, DC. I was widowed at the age of 28 when my 34-year-old husband died suddenly of a cerebral aneurysm that hemorrhaged, leaving me with an infant and a toddler. This crisis led me to believe that God loves us even when "bad" things happen, and also led me to pursue spirituality and become a minister. In 1996, thanks to "Autobiography of a Yogi" by Paramhansa Yogananda, and a meditation class called Raja Yoga, I started on an Eastern spiritual path, a journey which included becoming a healer and a mystic. On Thursday, May 27, 2010, I experienced what I call an Enlightenment Vision, in which I ascended and was blessed by Ascended Masters of many faiths: Master Lao Tzu, Mother Mary, Mary Magdalene, Jesus Christ, Lord Buddha, Paramahansa Yogananda, High Priest Melchizedek, Lady Kwan Yin, Master Usui, and then by the Seven Archangels of the Seven Rays. After this vision, the teachings in Higher Consciousness began. Apparently, my crown chakra was opened, and direct contact with the Ascended Masters has been possible ever since. My message to everyone is: this is possible for you to achieve as well, although getting there is not necessarily quick or easy. With a Master of Divinity degree from Vanderbilt University Divinity School, a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Texas Health Center at Houston, and a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Texas Christian University, I perceive a unity in my readings in Eastern religions and in Biblical studies. As a result, I believe the original message of Jesus Christ was and is a call to Self-Realization, which may also be called following The Way (a term used in the book of Acts by very early "Christians," although they did not call themselves "Christians;" they called themselves Followers of the Way. The Way, or the Tao consists of the practice of peace and love in every moment, honoring the Divine Presence within ourselves as well as within others. The Way of early Christianity was a spiritual practice which similarly focused not on the material world, but on the practice of Divine Presence within the earthly realm. When we practice The Way, or The Tao, we become one with Divine Peace, Love, and even bliss. When we attain this, we experience the "Kingdom of God" or Reign of God, within ourselves, Nirvana or possibly Samadhi. Achieving this Way within each of ourselves is the only way we will be able to usher in the Reign of Divine presence among us all here on earth. The ultimate goal of The Way, and of Self-Realization, is the attainment of unity with the Divine Consciousness, or Buddha-Consciousness or Christ-Consciousness, within, and beyond our normal mortal mind. This Unity-Consciousness is eternal, but begins in the here and now. May it be so.
