What do you do when you are alone? Can you be alone with yourself and be happy? In order to feel happy while alone, do you have to fill your time with distractions, whether food, TV, books, alcohol, and so on?
Or can you just sit alone in a quiet setting and feel content? Can you calmly process the challenges of your day, or do you have frustrations or anxieties that you feel but never work through?
Asking for divine assistance to get to a place of peace, and meditating to help it come, are essential and effective steps.
If we do not feel at peace over some situation or relationship in life, all we have to do is to ask to be shown what we need to learn, and God will be happy to reveal our part in the struggle.
Our own desires lead to our frustration and suffering. When we can release our desires and ask God simply for what we need, we will find peace. We need to trust that God will provide our needs, maybe not te way we desire, but in God’s way.
To get to this level where we receive the teachings we need for self-awareness can take years of meditation. God is only to happy to teach us in what ways we keep ourselves from being one with the peaceful, loving consciousness of Divinity.
Why not seek to live in that loving, peaceful consciousness?
